Talking how do you tell I'm a noob

OK so during the initial security they guys blocked root access.

Now I am assuming this is like disabling the administrator account in windows and I will no longer be able to SSH in with username ROOT - is this right?

If so what do I SSH in with? Do I need to setup a new account or is there another one I should use?

This also seems to have stopped me being able to access SFTP via SSH2

Hello,

This would depend if support disabled root access or disabled SSH access. It would be best if you can look through previous ticket replies to find out which they did. You should also be able to find the new procedure for logging in, if they disabled direct root login.

If you have access to a "lesser" account which you can use with SSH and know your root password, you can use the command "su -" to log in as a root within the "lesser" users SSH terminal.
