Default Virtuozzo Power Panel Backup

Hello All,

As some of you already use this feature, feel free to ignore this post.

Within your Virtuozzo Power Panel you have the ability to create a backup of your entire VPS with a few clicks of your mouse. Please see below for instructions.

Login to Virtuozzo Power Panel

Click on Maintenance

Click on New Backup and then follow the prompt.

You have just created a backup, stored outside of your VPS, that you can use to restore your VPS should it become compromised or corrupted.

So it is stored outside the VPS...does that mean it doesn't count toward your space use?

It doesn't go of my 10gb of space?

Hello,

Yes, that is correct. It doesn't count towards your 10 gb of space.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi ManU,

No that is not possible.

However, please note that this functionality is not intended for actual backup usage, as the files are stored on the same node as your VPS. This is only intended for when you for instance are about to install a new application on your VPS, and you want to be able to easily roll back to the point before you started (in case something went wrong).

For actual backup usage, it is best to store the backups remotely (on a different server). For this purpose we also provide backup space, which is available for just €5/month per 10GB space (also available for customers who don't have a VPS or server with us). The nice part is that most control panels can automatically write these backups to our remote backup space (daily, for instance).

We might give away some free backup accounts to our active forum members in the near future, so keep an eye on the forums and you might be able to get one free.
