Default DNS service

Does SolidRack offer any kind of DNS service or do we have to setup our own? Could you suggest a tutorial or howto if this is the case?

Dear Tom,

Could you please clarify whether your question is regarding a dedicated server, or a shared account?

For all of our shared accounts we provide DNS services. You will be provided with the nameservers of the appropriate server when you receive your account activation details.

As for dedicated servers, we currently don't offer a DNS service for those, however it's fairly easy to setup DNS on the server itself using BIND. We can install this for you, or if you get cPanel on your server, this is installed by default. If you don't know how to add DNS entries manually, I would highly recommend using a control panel, as that will automate all account configurations.

Nevertheless, if you specifically would like us to host the DNS, then please let us know and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out with you.

Best regards,
