Unhappy There is something wrong i feel...

Hi..

I think there's something wrong with either cpanel or the way clients login to their account via ftp here @ solidrack...

I had noticed this on another provider, the problem was this, you would connect via ftp and wait...and wait....and wait...then you would get the directory listing etc, i thought this was normal, but however it isn't... i was chatting live with the tech admin on this other provider when he told me he had just noticed a 'hole' in his cpanel setup, he sorted it out by upgrading or by going to the cpanel website or something i'm not sure, but after this i noticed a greatly improved speed in connecting via ftp...much much faster... have you ever wondered about this? or have looked into this? just thought i'd point this out. cheers

Hi Minx,

Can you tell me on which server your account is located? Or if you don't know, please tell me what's your username. Currently we aren't aware of any problems on any server.

If you prefer not to tell us your username here feel free to email us: support@solidrack.com

Thank you,

I have just done a cPanel upgrade on this server. Can you let me know whether this helped at all?

If that didn't help, can you please do the following:

>Click Start
>Click Execute
>Type cmd
>Type tracert pluto.solidrack.com

And can you please post the output here? That will enable me to tell you whether this is a network problem, and if it is I'll be able to see where the problem is located. Note that it's possible that the problem is located elsewhere, with your own ISP for instance could be possible too.

Regards,

Default Will you fix it in all servers?

Will you fix (or check if exists) this problem in all servers in SolidRack? When I uploaded the first site in SolidRack, I had many 'connection lost' errors by the FTP client. My server is Jupiter.

I think this is an error on your end because we are actively monitoring our servers and none of them have had any failures in the past couple of weeks/months.

However, could you show us a traceroute from you to the server?

You can do this in windows by doing the following:

- Go to start
- Go to execute
- Enter cmd
- Enter tracert jupiter.solidrack.com

That should give a couple of lines with output, please sent those to support@solidrack.com

Thank you,

I uploaded yesterday some new files and although I used a PSTN connection and uploaded about 4mb of JPG I had NONE connection lost with my FTP client!

So, the prev time it was surely a problem in my side (although I used a DSL connection). Everything seems to work fine! Thanks!
