Default AntiSpam

HARRIS,

Thanks for your reply on this!! I think I will see if this can be put on my decicated to help cut out alot of the SPAM issues. I really do not think we get more than about 3,000 emails a day at the MAX.

I've just been looking into this howto and there's one thing that needs correction:

You describe to BOTH install razor-agents-sdk-2.03 and also the perl modules individually. That's not a good idea. I tested that and it causes errors. The razor-agents-sdk-2.03 script's only function is to actually install those modules. Now the problem with that script is that it installs old versions of those modules, while the actual razor-agent attempts to use the new ones that you install individually.

Conclusion: do NOT install razor-agents-sdk-2.03 but just install the described modules individually.

Haris, it would be good if you can correct that in the how-to

And while I'm on it I'll add another suggestion. The tutorial suggest to regularly run "/etc/mail/rulesdujour/my_rules_du_jour" but it's probably easier to have this done automatically using a cronjob:

Code:
crontab -e
All the way on the bottom add:

Code:
0 0 * * 1 /etc/mail/rulesdujour/my_rules_du_jour > /dev/null 2>&1
That would run it every Monday at midnight. You can ofcourse set a different interval. Make sure to not update it too frequently though, since the authors of the rulesets have a rule for that:

Quote:
Download Policy: You can download each and every ruleset once per 24 hour period per IP address. If you try to download the rulesets too often, you will receive an error message. If you are downloading rulesets from many locations behind a proxy, please set up your own ruleset repository for your clients. Again: One single download of every file per 24 hours per IP address.

Hello,

To answer your questions:

The whitelist can be found at the part:

iii. RBL setting + Sender whitelist + receiver whitelist + Remote mail server whitelist

Regarding the outdated part, yes this could be true now, since the tutorial has been made a while ago
