2. I see 7yr special coupan is that scheme still available?

3. Can I pay in $$ instead of euros?

Hi,

Thank you for your inquiry. Let me answer your questions:

1. Yes that's possible. Please do keep in mind that this isn't supported by most control panels though.

2. Yes that's still available but not for long anymore.

3. Unfortunately that's not possible. Our administration is based on Euros and we'd have to run a completely separated administration for every other currency. However, our payment processors will simply convert your bill to USD automatically.

Thank you

That is intersting.
Does Plesk 8.2.1 (Linux) support lighthttpd?

Thank you,
Dimitris

Plesk doesn't support lighthttpd out of the box. I've heard of people who managed to get it working with some workarounds, but it's basically not how Plesk is designed to work. In short; I wouldn't recommend trying it as most likely it won't work very well.

Also, on a VPS, most components of Plesk are templated, which saves quite a lot of resources. Lighthttpd wouldn't be templated, meaning that there basically is no point in using it. The main motivation for using lighthttpd compared to Apache is that generally lighthttpd uses less resources, but in this case that wouldn't really apply.

I would also be interested in a VPS with a Lighttpd package.

HyperVM and LxAdmin are currently offering a control panel package for Lighttpd at just 50 cents per server. It's system requirement is only 15Mb.

Best regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

That sounds interesting. You would of course be free to run that on our VPS's. Support for those applications is based on best effort (but then again - unlike many other hosts - we do actually try to help )

If there's sufficient interest in this, we could consider making this part of our officially supported services.

Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately there is a minimum charge of $10 on that offer which covers 20 VPS's.

For your info you can see full details and also a demo of both panels on this page - http://lxlabs.com/software/hypervm/promotion/

I have actually tried the panels on a trial VPS and they perform pretty well - in my limited knowledge.

Best regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

Compared to Virtuozzo that's extremely cheap. We only offer Virtuozzo with our VPS's, not HyperVM. From what I can tell LXadmin can also run standalone on a Virtuozzo VPS, but a single license would still cost you $8/mo according to their website. Maybe you can get it cheaper if you would contact them and explain that it'll run on a Virtuozzo VPS.

Alternatively you could also get a dedicated server with us, and run openVZ + HyperVM + LXadmin on it. You could then offer those VPS's to your own customers. We have no intentions of offering that because we only use Virtuozzo, as that is simply aimed towards the high-end (quality wise) VPS market. We can help you set this up on a dedicated server. As a matter of fact we helped a client set this up this morning on her dedicated server

Ok thanks Andre I will keep that in mind, although a dedicated is somewhat beyond my financial reach at present.

Best regards,

Michael
